Our story

After spending 4 years in the Greatest Navy there is, I went to New Mexico State University to study Computer Drafting as my mother-in-law was also studying at the same time and place. She told me that some students were getting taken out of their program early and making over $30,000/year. That sounded great considering the Navy was only paying me about a 3rd of that. We had one son that had just turned 3 months old out of the Navy, so I was all in. I studied hard and made the Honor Roll several times before graduating in December 1993. My first job was at Leprino Foods in Roswell, NM as the Construction team's drafter. This choice would lead me to stay in construction inspection for the rest of my Career working for companies such as Texas Department of Transportation, and several medium sized engineering firms as a construction inspector. It fit perfect because I enjoyed working outside and moving around. After that I started working for myself on the side making a little money here and there, hence that is where CAD WEST was born.
